Frances Hamilton White (August 1933 – March 21, 2021)
The Friends of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library are saddened by the death of Frances White. We will be forever grateful for the part she played in making our library a possibility and for gifting us with an endowment fund that will support our organization for years to come. Frances led a rich life and was a very generous donor to many causes beyond the library; her online obituary, available here, gives more information about her and her works and gives suggestions for donations in her memory. As her obituary says, “she truly understood that a public library is a transformative force in a community” and we will honor her memory by continuing to support our library and our community.
