In 2007 a generous life member donor with a long-time interest in libraries and reading established an endowment fund for the Friends of the library. Interest generated yearly from this fund is to be used by the Friends for worthy purposes. In recent years we have installed a state-of-the-art sound system in our community room, bought furniture for the teen and children’s areas, helped fund library programs and given yearly scholarships to graduating seniors.
We have received memorial donations, but births, graduations, birthdays or estate planning can also be occasions to contribute, as can a suggestion for a special learning project for the library.
Checks should be made out to the Friends of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library, designated “endowment donation” and mailed to the Friends, PO Box 657, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA 92007. We also ask that you indicate if we might use your name as a donor in our newsletter and on our website. Donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be mailed.
